Stacie & Chris | Avalon & Stone Harbor NJ Wedding

On September 13, 2014, I had the honor of documenting my friend Stacie’s wedding.  I first met Stacie through my very good friend Erica, and had the pleasure of spending a whole week with her and her friends in Sea Isle City, NJ a few years back.  I knew then that the beach was a special place to Stacie.  Stacie and Chris planned to have their wedding at the 101st Street Beach in Avalon, NJ with a reception to follow at the Stone Harbor Yacht Club.  When I first arrived, there was not a single drop of rain in the sky.  It wasn’t sunny, but it wasn’t raining. The weather outlook was not good.  In fact, that Saturday was the only day of rain forecasted for the entire week. With the decision looming on whether to hold the ceremony as planned, on the beach, or to move it in doors to the yacht club, Stacie was as calm as could be.

I have never actually shot a wedding in the rain, and I was hoping that all my iPhone weather apps (totaling 3) were wrong.  It was time to make a decision……. we were headed to the beach.  Everyone came prepared: umbrellas, parkas, raincoats, sweatshirts; friends and family were ready!  And so was I.  While I knew that my Nikon camera was weather sealed, I still did a good bit of praying.  The ceremony was amazing.  Stacie and Chris looked amazing!  I did my fair share of umbrella hopping from guest to guest and I even grabbed my friend Erica at the end to stand with me with her umbrella.  I did have one heart stopping moment when the rain came down just a little bit harder (towards the end) on whether I should go back to take cover under the gazebo; but I stayed the course and I could not be happier that I did.

While the rain only managed to dampen our clothes, it certainly did NOT dampen our spirits!  This wedding was amazing through and through.  We made our way back to the Stone Harbor Yacht Club to party!!  A heartfelt congratulations to Stacie and Chris! Rain on a wedding day is supposed to mean good luck, and if the beautiful sunset at the end isn’t proof, than I don’t know what is!!  I wish you both a lifetime of happiness. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your special (and exciting) day!!

Stacy & Bobby’s Maternity Shoot | Valley Forge Park

About a week ago I had the pleasure of shooting my friends Stacy and Bobby for their first ever maternity session.  You see, I shot their wedding in 2010, so when she asked for me to shoot their maternity session, I was stoked.  We agreed on the beautiful and rustic Valley Forge Park.  The weather was amazing, and so were they.  Have fun looking through this little sneak peek.  Oh and keep an eye out for maybe a Spring or Fall 2015 Family Session; you see, I don’t shoot newborns, but Stacy is also a great photographer, so I can’t wait to see what she has in store for her little girl!  Hugs and kisses to you both!!

Chrissy,
What a wonderful shoot, the bond is strong between Stacy, Bobby and their little girl. However what is most important in this situation is that your bond with them has translated into touching images that warms the heart and brings a smile to that faces of all who view them. Congratulations on an excellent job!!!

A Family Session | Point Pleasant, NJ

I’ve known Tiffanie for many years as I photographed many of her friends weddings.  When she asked me to shoot her family in Point Pleasant, New Jersey this past summer, how could I say no.  I love beach sessions.  I love the “proper” family posed shots, but I also love the funny ones too.  This session had it all.  Enjoy this sneak peak of the Savacool Family!

Ryan & Katie | The Carriage House NJ Wedding

Congrats to Ryan and Katie. They were married at the Carriage House in NJ on Saturday, August 16, 2014.  When I first met Ryan and Katie, I knew that their wedding would be very special.  I had the honor of shooting their engagement session HERE, and had a blast at their wedding.  The day began with two ‘First Looks’.  The first was with Katie and her dad, and I’ll bet there wasn’t a dry eye around (including me).  It was touching, tender, and very special.  Next it was Ryan’s turn and it was spectacular.  I love when brides and grooms decide to see each other before the ceremony; I think there is something very special about a ‘First Look’, not to mention, we get to have a stress-free, fun time with portraits!!  I also want to thank my second shooter, Marielle Casanova of Brick Photography for helping me capture this wonderful day!

The ceremony was beautiful as well as the speeches, the cake cutting and the dancing.  Katie’s dad gave the best speech I’ve seen to date by a parent.  He held out a sonogram photo of Katie and described what it was like to see her for the first time in her wedding gown.  I was very touched by this wedding.  I actually felt like part of the family by the end; that is how wonderful and caring all of their friends and family were!

Katie and Ryan, I wish you both the most amazing life together.  Enjoy this sneak peek!

Chrissy & Pat | Sea Isle City, NJ Engagement

Summer days are amazing days for an engagement session, and when Chrissy and Pat asked that I meet them in Sea Isle, NJ…..I was ecstatic. So, on Monday, August 11, Chrissy, Pat and I walked on the beach, got a little wet, and ice-cream even made an appearance.  Engagement sessions are always full of laughter, and Chrissy and Pat were no exception.  Tons of silliness and laughing.  Enjoy this sneak peek and keep an eye out for their wedding in January 2015.
